Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our organization. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our workplace complies with health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety among all employees. You will conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and participate in safety audits, as well as coordinate and implement safety programs to uphold the highest safety standards. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train and educate staff on safety practices and prevention strategies. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Identify potential hazards and conduct risk assessments to mitigate risks.
  • Provide safety training and awareness programs for all employees.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain safety records and report on safety performance and statistics.
  • Collaborate with management to improve workplace safety culture continuously.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and evaluate their effectiveness regularly.
  • Ensure all staff are equipped with necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in safety audits and propose corrective actions for deficiencies.
  • Advise on the implementation of ergonomic solutions to minimize workplace injuries.
  • Monitor compliance with legal standards and liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a safety officer role.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for risk assessment.
  • Strong communication and training skills to engage staff effectively.
  • Proficiency in using safety inspection and audit software tools.
  • Certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar credential is preferred.
