The Safety Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs that ensure compliance with both company policies and government regulations. Responsibilities

  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to determine root causes.
  • Prepare reports with recommendations for corrective or preventive measures for management review.
  • Maintain and update safety records, documentation, and reports for regulatory compliance.
  • Provide guidance and advice to management on changes in safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with external agencies during safety audits and when responding to incidents.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging employee participation and feedback.
  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate safety standards into daily operations.
  • Oversee the disposal of hazardous substances in a responsible and compliant manner.
  • Ensure emergency equipment is accessible, maintained, and inspected regularly for functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field required.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety management systems and operational regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills necessary for documentation and process management.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively train individuals and present to management.
  • Certification in safety (such as OSHA) is highly preferred for this role.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with the ability to generate comprehensive safety reports.
