Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Officer to join our organization and ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing safety protocols and policies to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Your role will include conducting regular inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing safety measures. You will work closely with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety protocols and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to minimize risk and prevent workplace accidents.
  • Train employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper use of safety equipment.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and injuries to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and compliance audits for reporting purposes.
  • Coordinate with management to create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for employees.
  • Conduct risk assessments and suggest corrective measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Review and update safety policies in response to changes in laws and industry best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding safety concerns and issues.
  • Collaborate with external safety consultants and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging proactive safety practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role, with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills for identifying and assessing risks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective safety measures.
  • Strong communication skills for training and advising staff on safety matters.
  • Ability to remain calm and act decisively during emergency situations and incident investigations.
