Job Description

As a Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with health and safety regulations. You will be responsible for identifying potential hazards and implementing safety measures to prevent accidents or incidents. You will work closely with management to develop policies and protocols that foster a culture of safety and ensure all team members are trained in safety procedures. Your keen attention to detail and comprehensive understanding of safety regulations will help mitigate risks and improve overall safety standards. By promoting best practices and providing guidance, you will contribute to creating a work environment where health and safety are a top priority.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures for all departments.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate safety training programs and workshops for employees on a regular basis.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and provide thorough reports to management.
  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date records of workplace incidents and safety measures.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and availability of safety equipment and gear.
  • Lead emergency response planning and conduct regular emergency drills.
  • Advise staff and management on safety-related issues and improvements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose strategic solutions to minimize hazards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to stay updated on safety standards and legislation.
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management on a quarterly basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field required.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards is essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and data analysis tools.
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures preferred.
