The Risk and Quality Manager will lead the development and execution of FADA’s integrated risk and quality assurance frameworks, ensuring alignment with EDGE Group’s corporate governance standards. This role is pivotal in safeguarding mission-critical space and defense programs by embedding robust risk controls and quality systems across all operational layers—from satellite development to advanced aerospace manufacturing. The ideal candidate will champion a culture of precision, resilience, and continuous improvement within one of the UAE’s most technologically ambitious entities.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
Architect and maintain a risk management framework tailored to space systems, satellite operations, and defense-grade technologies.
Identify and assess risks across FADA’s portfolio, including launch systems, orbital platforms, payload integration, and ground control infrastructure.
Facilitate technical risk assessments for high-impact programs such as spacecraft design, propulsion systems, and autonomous defense platforms.
Maintain dynamic risk registers and oversee mitigation strategies in collaboration with engineering and program leads.
Deliver executive-level risk briefings with insights into emerging threats, regulatory shifts, and mission assurance gaps.
Quality Management
Design and implement a Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards for aerospace and defense.
Define and monitor quality KPIs across satellite assembly, component testing, and mission-readiness evaluations.
Lead root cause investigations for anomalies in space hardware, avionics, and propulsion systems.
Partner with Engineering, Production, and R&D to embed quality checkpoints from concept to launch.
Manage SOPs, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives across multi-disciplinary teams.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with EDGE Group policies, UAE space regulations, and international aerospace standards (e.g., ITAR, ECSS, ISO).
Support internal and external audits, including regulatory inspections by space authorities and defense clients.
Collaborate with legal and governance teams on contract risk assessments, export control compliance, and mission assurance documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Risk Management, or related field; Master’s or certifications (ISO Lead Auditor, PMP, Six Sigma, AS9100) preferred.
8+ years of experience in risk, quality, or compliance roles within space Sector.
Proven experience with satellite systems, launch vehicle components, and space-grade manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with supply chain risk management in high-security, multi-vendor environments.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and executive domains.
