Risk Analyst

We are seeking a graduate entry level candidate. The trainee Risk Analyst will support the ME CRO to identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with our global trading activities as a Fintech Online Broker in the Middle East, across financial products including bonds, equities, listed options, swaps, CFDs, margin products, ETFs, Mutual Funds, repo and stock borrow/lend. In time, this role may grow to encompass credit, market, operational and liquidity risk management.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Work closely with and support the ME CRO focusing on risk reporting, risk policy, risk related IT change requests and risk governance including Risk Committee.
• Closely liaise with internal stakeholders (including Front Office), to build knowledge of infrastructure, extract data, obtain information and socialise ideas and methodologies.
• Be proactive in building the necessary risk management technical skillset, both on-the-job and self-training.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree with a high grade, in quantitative discipline such as mathematics, physics, statistics or engineering.
• Postgraduate degree is advantageous, in subjects such as finance, economics, banking or risk management.
• Holds an FRM qualification (or at least has started the certification).
• High degree of written and verbal proficiency in English is a prerequisite.
• Demonstrable interest in developing risk management expertise in financial markets.
• Evidence of interest in financial markets, traded products, digital platforms and fintech.
• Excellent communication, analytical, presentation and data handling skills.
• Able to interface with a variety of systems, which will include in house systems and external systems.
• Intermediate level of competence in MS Office with advanced level of competence in MS Excel.
