Job Description

A Retail Account Manager plays a crucial role in fostering and maintaining relationships between a retailer and its business clients or accounts. They are responsible for ensuring that client needs are met, and that both parties achieve mutually beneficial results. This role requires a deep understanding of retail operations and excellent communication and sales skills. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing accounts and will have a proactive approach to resolving issues and identifying opportunities for growth. The Retail Account Manager will work closely with both the sales and marketing teams to ensure product positioning aligns with client needs, and that sales targets are met through strategic planning and execution.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail clients and partners.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within existing retail accounts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet client expectations.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to review business performance and goals.
  • Analyze sales data to drive growth and identify areas for improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profit and success.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to management on account activity.
  • Monitor competitors and market trends to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop campaigns tailored to client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all dealings.
  • Prepare and present sales pitches and product demonstrations to potential clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales or account management within the retail industry.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets consistently.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and interpret sales data.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
