Role Overview

We are seeking a Research and Strategy Consultant (Ocean & Maritime Subject Matter Expert) to support the planning and strategic development of an ocean-focused launch initiative in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This role will provide marine, ocean, and sustainability expertise to ensure that event concepts, narratives, and partnerships are scientifically accurate, locally relevant, and aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and sustainability priorities. The consultant will work closely with a multidisciplinary project team to translate complex ocean knowledge into clear, actionable guidance for both a VIP launch experience and a broader public engagement activation.

This is a strategic advisory role focused on research, content accuracy, and strategic insight during the early planning phase rather than design or production delivery. This position is a strategic advisory role.

 Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert input on marine science, ocean ecosystems, and sustainability, with a focus on the Red Sea and Saudi Arabia.


• Support benchmarking and research of comparable science-led events, exhibitions, and public engagement initiatives.


• Review and advise on event concepts, narratives, messaging, and content to ensure scientific credibility and relevance.


• Contribute to the definition of roles and engagement models for scientific, academic, and research partners.


• Participate in internal and external workshops, offering subject-matter insights and recommendations.


• Translate complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible guidance suitable for diverse audiences.

Required Background

• Academic background or professional experience in marine science, oceanography, environmental studies, sustainability, or a related field.


• Experience supporting public engagement initiatives, education programs, exhibitions, museums, or institutional projects.


• Strong ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, engaging, and audience-appropriate manner.


• Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and science-based storytelling.


• Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is an advantage.
