Job Title: Reinsurance Director - Broker

Markets: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives & Vietnam, Philippines, and other SEA markets

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven Reinsurance Director to lead our reinsurance brokerage operations. The role requires deep market expertise, strong client management skills, and leadership in structuring, negotiating, and placing complex reinsurance programs across multiple lines of business.

As a senior member of the leadership team, the Reinsurance Director will oversee client servicing, placement execution, and market relationships, ensuring profitable growth and long-term partnerships with cedents and reinsurers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage reinsurance placements (treaty and facultative) across all business lines
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with cedents, reinsurers, and global broker partners
• Drive new business development and retention of key accounts through consultative engagement
• Advise clients on optimal reinsurance structures, capacity strategies, and market solutions
• Oversee the preparation of slips, cover notes, wordings, and reinsurance documentation
• Negotiate terms and conditions with reinsurers to secure the best coverage and pricing
• Monitor claims, settlements, and reinsurance recoveries in coordination with finance and claims teams
• Manage the technical accounting and compliance aspects in coordination with support functions
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of brokers and account executives
• Contribute to the strategic planning and revenue growth of the brokerage
• Stay informed about global reinsurance trends, pricing cycles, and regulatory changes

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field (Masters preferred)
• 10 - 15 years of experience in reinsurance brokerage, with strong exposure to both treaty and facultative placements
• Proven track record in managing client portfolios and leading reinsurance negotiations
• Deep understanding of risk transfer mechanisms, capital optimization, and retrocession structures
• Strong network of relationships with international reinsurers and capacity providers
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and reinsurance compliance in GCC or global markets
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
• Professional qualifications such as ACII, CPCU, or equivalent are highly desirable
