Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Operation Theatre, you play an integral role in providing high-quality surgical care and a safe environment for patients undergoing medical procedures. Your expertise supports the surgical team while ensuring that best practices, safety protocols, and the highest standards of care are consistently maintained. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, be adept at responding promptly to challenges, and work effectively in a highly dynamic and sometimes high-stress environment. Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Conduct preoperative assessments and ensure informed consent is obtained from patients.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgery.
  • Coordinate with anesthesiologists to manage patients' anesthesia needs during operations.
  • Document surgical procedures and patient responses accurately and timely.
  • Provide postoperative care and monitor recovery in the initial stages.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery guidelines.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety standards in the operation room.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations in coordination with the surgical team.

Requirements

  • Vaid state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of two years of operating room experience preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and medical staff.
  • Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure.
