Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Operation Theatre team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for all surgical patients. The Registered Nurse in Operation Theatre will handle pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures. Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to develop patient care plans.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and condition throughout the surgical procedure.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Assist in positioning patients safely and appropriately on the operating table.
  • Administer medications and IV fluids as directed by medical staff.
  • Document all patient care and surgical activities accurately in medical records.
  • Maintain sterile field during surgery by following proper infection control protocols.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families before and after surgery.
  • Participate in post-operative care, including wound care and dressing changes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Identify and respond to emergencies promptly and effectively, ensuring patient safety.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in an operating theatre setting.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and operating room management.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse medical teams.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-stress environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
