Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Operation Theatre team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in perioperative nursing and thrive in high-pressure environments. As a Registered Nurse in our Operation Theatre, you will be at the forefront of surgical care, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of service throughout their surgical procedures. Your role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to prepare patients, assist surgeons, and ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to. You will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment and using your critical thinking skills to handle emergencies as they arise. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the surgical team to prepare the operating room for procedures.
  • Assess patients' health conditions and develop effective care plans accordingly.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to changes during surgery.
  • Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infection and adhere to safety standards.
  • Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Manage and supervise the setup of surgical equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of the patient’s records and surgical notes.
  • Educate patients and families about post-operative recovery and care plans.
  • Provide emotional support to patients before, during, and after surgery.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Stay updated with the latest surgical practices and continuous education.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an operating theatre or surgical environment.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical equipment, procedures, and aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
