Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As a Registered Nurse in our NICU, you will be responsible for providing specialized, comprehensive care to critically ill newborns and their families. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond quickly and proficiently to the complex and rapidly changing conditions of the infants in your care. You will play a vital role in a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to ensure the highest quality of care and support for the most vulnerable patients. This position requires a strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuing professional development.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns.
  • Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to critical changes in patient conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan and execute patient care plans.
  • Educate and support families on infant care and health management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and document patient progress thoroughly.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring and diagnostic equipment in patient care procedures.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to families during distressing periods.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare providers for smooth transition of patient care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and education activities.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license and eligibility to practice in the state.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a NICU setting preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and advocacy.
