Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to the newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Monitor and document the vital signs and status of neonatal patients regularly.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by attending physicians.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans.
  • Educate and support families, offering information and resources regarding patient care.
  • Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment essential for neonatal care.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency situations, providing life-saving interventions when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization efforts as required by patient condition.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and established safety standards at all times.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with neonatal care advances.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of unit protocols to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • Minimum of two years of registered nursing experience, preferably in NICU settings.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program is preferred.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work harmoniously within a multicultural and multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and other healthcare technology platforms.
