Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess mothers and newborns to ensure safe and effective care is provided.
  • Administer medications and treatments to mothers and newborns per doctor's orders and protocols.
  • Provide education and support to expectant and new mothers regarding postnatal care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement specialized maternity care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records documenting vital statistics and health concerns.
  • Assist in the delivery process providing support to obstetricians and other medical staff.
  • Identify any complications early and communicate effectively with healthcare teams for interventions.
  • Ensure infection control protocols are adhered to in the maternity ward environment.
  • Participate in ongoing educational opportunities to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to families during and after the childbirth process.
  • Coordinate follow-up care plans with pediatricians and other relevant professionals.
  • Contribute to policy updates regarding maternity care practices within the department.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a valid DHA license permitting work in Dubai healthcare facilities.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in maternity or obstetrics nursing settings.
  • Strong knowledge of maternal and infant health principles and practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with patients and teams.
  • Adept at critical thinking and problem-solving in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems for maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Committed to continuing education and professional development in maternity care specialties.
