Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse III specializing in Ophthalmology to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmic procedures and patient care. This role demands a nurse who can manage complex cases, support surgical interventions, and contribute to a multidisciplinary team with clinical expertise and insight. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, optimizing patient outcomes, and educating patients about eye health. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with ophthalmic conditions.
  • Assist ophthalmologists in conducting eye surgeries and procedures safely.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with eye disorders.
  • Educate patients and their families about eye health and care protocols.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the ophthalmologist.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and medical interventions.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Prepare patients and operating rooms for ophthalmic surgeries and interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with eye safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical training and professional development opportunities.
  • Analyze clinical data to assist in the improvement of departmental practices.
  • Perform routine eye examinations and tests to support diagnostic procedures.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing with the licensing board.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience in ophthalmology required.
  • Proficiency in using ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and surgical instruments.
  • Strong understanding of eye anatomy, diseases, and ophthalmic health concepts.
  • Excellent patient care skills and the ability to develop rapport with patients.
  • Ability to maintain composure and work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred but not required.
