Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will play a crucial role in providing acute care in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing services, ranging from patient assessment and monitoring to executing emergency life-saving interventions. Responsibilities

  • Perform initial patient assessments to determine their medical condition and needs.
  • Administer emergency medical treatments and interventions as necessary and appropriate.
  • Closely monitor patient vital signs and medical conditions during emergency situations.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient care and progress notes.
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with emergency procedures and treatments.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure efficient delivery of emergency care services.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions and the available treatment options.
  • Utilize critical thinking to address high-pressure scenarios and rapidly changing conditions.
  • Manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care outcomes.
  • Ensure all medical equipment is functional, sterilized, and readily available for use.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in emergency care.

Requirements

  • Hold a current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program required.
  • At least two years of experience working in an emergency department or similar setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in emergency medicine.
