Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be at the frontline of providing care to patients in critical need of medical attention. Working in a high-stakes environment, you will utilize your advanced clinical skills to deliver fast-paced and thorough nursing care. You will be expected to assess, diagnose, and provide immediate care, often managing multiple patients with varying levels of urgency. A key part of this role will be to offer compassion and support to patients and their families during stressful times. Your ability to thrive under pressure, make swift clinical judgments, and collaborate with a diverse healthcare team is essential to the success of this role. Your contributions will be pivotal in improving patient outcomes and ensuring that each patient receives the highest quality of care.


Responsibilities

  • Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival in the emergency department.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as required.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and physical condition consistently.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Document all patient information accurately in medical records and databases.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and quick decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care plans.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the emergency area.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for emergency care.
  • Attend regular training to stay updated on emergency nursing practices.
  • Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and student nurses.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license .
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in an emergency or acute care setting.
  • Advanced life support certification such as ACLS or PALS is essential.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills with the ability to make swift decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills suitable for a diverse patient population.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and medical documentation systems.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
