Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing high-quality healthcare services. They are responsible for evaluating patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. RNs work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. They provide emotional support to patients and families and are often a primary point of contact for patient inquiries. In addition to technical skills, RNs must demonstrate empathy, patience, and strong communication skills. This role involves both physical tasks, such as administering medication and monitoring patient vital signs, and more complex responsibilities, such as diagnosing symptoms and conducting medical assessments.


Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions and healthcare needs.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans tailored to patient requirements.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to prescribed healthcare plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition, vital signs, and progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals for interdisciplinary care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families concerning treatments.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records of nursing observations and care.
  • Ensure infection control measures are followed to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests, analyze results and report findings to medical staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training, seminars, and continued education initiatives.
  • Coordinate patient discharge processes and ensure post-care instructions are clear.
  • React competently in emergencies, providing assistance and ensuring patient safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical and healthcare terminology and practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team-based environment.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
