Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) in the 11D25 unit plays a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting healthcare teams within medical and surgical settings. In this specialized unit, the RN is responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. They support patients by providing quality healthcare, educating patients about disease prevention, managing existing conditions, and offering emotional support during difficult times. Working in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, the RN in the 11D25 unit ensures patient safety and promotes patient recovery. This role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented, and highly skilled nurse who can work under pressure, adapt to changing situations, and develop trusting relationships with patients and their families.


Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor patients' conditions, vital signs, and overall well-being continuously.
  • Develop individualized nursing care plans based on patient-specific health needs and conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments to patients in accordance with medical directives.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care plans and outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatments, and preventive health strategies.
  • Document patient information, procedures, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify and address potential health risks or complications in a proactive manner.
  • Support a therapeutic environment by effectively communicating with patients and hospital staff.
  • Participate in regular training sessions and continuing education to maintain current nursing skills.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, nursing guidelines, and safety standards.
  • Assist in emergency situations, providing first-line medical care and crisis management.
  • Lead and mentor junior nursing staff and facilitate professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school is required.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in a hospital, preferably within a similar unit.
  • Proven ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMRs) and healthcare documentation software.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification are mandatory.
