The MEATR team is seeking an experienced Environmental Professional to join the team and lead the environmental compliance aspects of Amazons Quick Commerce (QC) business line and third-party (3P) logistics facilities across the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia (KSA), Egypt, South Africa and Turkey. These are small-format urban facilities. This role will own the environmental program across environmental media (air, stormwater and wastewater, waste, etc.) and management programs (such as Spill Response, Regulatory Interactions) and roll them out in partnership with the Operations team and support functions who execute at site level. Country Environmental Managers will provide guidance on country-specific regulatory requirements.

This role will provide strategic direction supporting the Operations team and EAP field customers to ensure that designed programs and trainings are implemented and meet each stakeholder groups needs. This role will also work with consultants and technical teams to resolve regulated environmental program barriers and provide guidance, and will support the MEATR Environmental Leader in environmental data management and business reporting for this business line to meet Amazons high bar.

The ideal candidate must possess proficiency in environmental programs and regulations and demonstrate this expertise when partnering with teams. The successful candidate must be able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment, have a results-oriented approach, strong analytical skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in implementing processes and procedures across multiple regions, sites or businesses.

This position will directly report to the MEATR Environmental Leader.

Key job responsibilities
Support business line and country-specific environmental compliance programs and procedures for small-format urban facilities, including waste segregation and storage standards, hazardous waste management, spill response, etc., and ensure compliance.

Ensure the environmental requirements are embedded in third-party (3P) logistics contracts and service agreements, covering inventory waste handling and storage, licensed disposal vendors for inventory waste, manifest retention, audit rights, and related obligations.

Work with internal stakeholders, such as Operations (including ACES), Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), Facilities, Legal, Dangerous Goods, Engineering, Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME), Procurement, Learning and Development, Real Estate and GES team for new buildings, to identify and remove barriers for successful environmental program development, deployment and process improvements, and to secure senior-level commitment to environmental requirements for this business line.

Assess and identify applicable environmental operating permits, licenses, classifications and recurring municipal reporting obligations across all five countries, maintain them in the environmental compliance platform, and drive renewal actions with the Operations team.

Conduct site assessments and environmental inspections across the portfolio to verify program adoption, identify compliance gaps, and record findings and corrective actions in the environmental compliance platform.

Roll out the program across the portfolio working with the Operations team, defining the standard, sequence, training and completion criteria, and verifying adoption.

Release network alerts to stakeholders on new developments, requirements, and updates around the programs.

Deploy and review environmental performance against applicable key performance indicators with their owners.

Support the Operations team during regulatory interactions and agency inspections at QC sites.

Support and lead the preparation and finalization of environmental business review reports for the business line.

Identify large-scale opportunities and partner with the program team to develop, integrate and implement standardized programs that maintain compliance while reducing the burden on Amazons resources.

Supervise consultants and third-party environmental service providers hired to deliver specific products and services under the EAP scope for QC and 3PL.

Basic Qualifications: - Experience managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously and driving goals to completion
- Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- 6+ years of experience serving as an environment manager, program specialist, or program manager.
- Experience developing and managing environmental programs for air, waste, and water.
- Experience rolling out a compliance program across a multi-site portfolio and working with multiple stakeholders
- Experience managing environmental permits and licenses, including application, renewal and regulatory inspection response.
- Bachelors degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent field of study Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced degree or professional certification in an Environmental, Sustainability, EHS or related fields
- ISO 14000 or equivalent program development and auditing experience
- Experience with environmental compliance management platforms and site environmental risk assessment methodology.
- Written and verbal communication skills in Arabic or Turkish.
