Lead the compliance function and provide input to and lead the implementation of the functional strategy in the region to develop, implement and maintain DHL policies and procedures that comply with all applicable laws and regulations in line with business needs, strategy, industry best practices, regulatory framework and current legislation.

In this Regional Compliance Officer Position


  • Define short to mid-term compliance strategy, frameworks and standards at regional level taking into account current/ future business plans, exposure, risks, applicable laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with top management on strategic planning activities and translate regional compliance strategy into commercial reality by supporting operational plans, measures and budgets to achieve defined results
  • Oversee review and interpretation of new and pending laws and regulations that would potentially affect DHL’s business practices
  • Set priorities for the region and align its activities to support achievement of business objectives without compromising on compliance standards, guidelines and rules
  • Define and deploy program s, control system s, compliance metrics and tools for the region to enhance compliance with DHL protocols and standards and with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Introduce and steer innovation across the compliance function to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the function in the region
  • Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of information and compliance reporting detailing compliance cases and their management
  • Provide binding responses to emerging questions and take binding ad -hoc decisions in compliance questions
  • Confidentially process complaints and ensure solution in line with compliance guidelines
  • Negotiate and influence business decisions with clients/customers and definition of relevant term s and conditions in line with regional standards and guidelines
  • Represent DHL group externally in compliance matters (e.g. public authorities, courts)


Stakeholders


  • Extensive contact and negotiating with other departments and 3rd parties with conflicting objectives
  • Influence and challenge key stakeholders effectively
  • Develop strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with senior DHL business leaders
  • Influence others across DHL and externally as an internally and externally recognized thought leader representing the Group
  • Champion cooperation and partnership to provide integrated solutions to problem s


Management Responsibilities


  • Lead multiple teams of lower level executives, directors/senior managers, and managers
  • Develop short to long-term (1-5 years) plans for optimizing the organization, function, or job-family and the talent required to execute strategies
