We are seeking a dedicated and personable Receptionist to join our healthcare team. As the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, your role is crucial in providing a welcoming and efficient atmosphere. In this position, you will manage front desk operations, including greeting patients, handling phone inquiries, scheduling appointments, and supporting the healthcare staff with administrative tasks. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors promptly with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
  • Manage the scheduling of patient appointments for healthcare providers efficiently.
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and handle inquiries professionally and accurately.
  • Assist patients with the check-in process, ensuring all forms are completed correctly.
  • Coordinate with healthcare staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and communication.
  • Collect and verify patient insurance information and update records appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to privacy regulations.
  • Provide general administrative support such as filing, photocopying, and faxing documents.
  • Handle and distribute incoming mail and deliveries to appropriate personnel.
  • Manage appointment cancellation and rescheduling requests with precision and politeness.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by management or healthcare staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certification in health administration is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a front desk receptionist or in a similar clerical role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using office software, such as MS Office Suite and scheduling applications.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy guidelines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of healthcare procedures and terminology preferred.
