Job Description

As a Receptionist in the healthcare sector, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing them with a welcoming and efficient experience. Your role will be essential in coordinating the front desk activities, including managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and handling inquiries with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Working in a healthcare environment requires empathy, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care and maintain smooth operations within the facility. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Manage and direct incoming phone calls to appropriate departments efficiently.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients with healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy reception area for patient comfort and safety.
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide accurate information as per facility protocols.
  • Ensure patient information is accurately entered and updated in the healthcare system.
  • Assist in maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to data protection regulations.
  • Coordinate with medical staff for effective communication regarding patient visits.
  • Prepare and manage paperwork required for new patient registrations and appointments.
  • Provide administrative assistance to healthcare staff as needed for efficient operations.
  • Monitor and replenish office supplies to ensure availability for daily activities.
  • Assist in emergency situations by following the established safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interactions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and office software, including MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and medical terminology is highly desirable.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging or stressful situations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in administration is a plus.
