Job Description

The Receptionist cum Patient Care Coordinator is a key role within our healthcare facility, bridging the gap between patients and administrative tasks. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while possessing robust organizational and multitasking abilities. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They are responsible for managing patient schedules, coordinating appointments, and assisting with patient inquiries. This role requires excellent communication skills combined with the aptitude to handle sensitive information confidentially. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Receptionist cum Patient Care Coordinator must be adept at handling various tasks simultaneously while maintaining patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Answer and direct phone calls efficiently to appropriate departments or personnel.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments using the facility's appointment system.
  • Maintain and update patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient transitions between services.
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide relevant information and assistance as needed.
  • Manage check-in and check-out processes, ensuring minimal wait times for patients.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of patient consent forms and paperwork.
  • Maintain the reception area and ensure it is tidy, welcoming, and stocked with necessities.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and mail distribution.
  • Escalate complex patient concerns to appropriate managerial or medical staff.
  • Collaborate with the billing department to address insurance queries and billing issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; healthcare background is an advantage.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist, administrative assistant, or similar role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required for patient interaction.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and office software, including MS Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently and accurately.
  • Familiarity with healthcare patient management systems and electronic records management.
  • Empathetic and patient-focused attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
