Job Description

A Real Estate Property Leasing Consultant plays a vital role in the real estate industry, responsible for matching prospective tenants with suitable rental properties. As an expert in customer service and real estate market trends, the Leasing Consultant acts as an intermediary between property owners and renters. This role involves a combination of administrative tasks, sales, and customer service, often requiring strong communication skills and an ability to close leasing deals. Successful Leasing Consultants familiarize themselves with the rental properties they represent, offering tours, answering questions, and providing essential information to prospective tenants. They also maintain a thorough understanding of the local real estate market, ensuring they can offer relevant advice to potential renters and meet lease targets.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct property tours and effectively present leasing options to prospective tenants.
  • Negotiate lease terms and conditions with both landlords and tenants as needed.
  • Complete all leasing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of available rental properties and tenant leads.
  • Monitor local real estate market trends and report changes to the management team.
  • Assist in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies for properties.
  • Ensure the properties are well-maintained by coordinating with maintenance staff.
  • Respond to inquiries from potential tenants promptly, providing detailed property information.
  • Facilitate lease renewals and manage existing tenant relationships effectively.
  • Perform credit and background checks for potential tenants and verify application information.
  • Prepare leasing agreements in accordance with established company policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in community events and network to increase occupancy rates and contacts.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in real estate or property management is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Must be detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Proficient in using property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of fair housing laws and property leasing regulations is required.
  • A valid real estate license may be required depending on the location or company policy.
