Job Description

As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the medical imaging field, working alongside radiologists and other healthcare professionals to perform diagnostic imaging examinations on patients. Your primary responsibility is to operate various radiology equipment such as X-ray, CT scanners, and MRI machines, capturing images that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. You will be responsible for explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort, and minimizing radiation exposure by using protective shielding. As the demand for diagnostic services continues to grow, this role is vital in ensuring high-quality patient care and an essential part of any medical team.


Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations using a variety of radiology equipment.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Maintain equipment in compliance with established safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Calibrate radiology machines and troubleshoot when technical issues arise.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients and prepare them accordingly.
  • Follow physician instructions and protocols for accurate imaging techniques.
  • Ensure radiation safety measures are adhered to when conducting examinations.
  • Manage patient records and document imaging results accurately and securely.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to determine optimal imaging methods for diagnosis.
  • Maintain a clean and organized imaging environment at all times.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to advance technical skills.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving in challenging imaging scenarios.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field is required.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a medical imaging environment.
  • Strong knowledge of radiology equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse patients.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and protective measures in radiology.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced medical setting.
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification is essential.
