The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all commercial, and cost control activities across base-build construction and interior fit-out projects, from tender stage through to final account close-out. To Support the delivery of Emirates Group projects by undertaking preliminary surveys and feasibility assessment, Preparing Bills of Quantities from architectural, structural, and Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (M.E.P) drawings, and developing cost estimates. Maintain effective project financial control through monitoring of budgets, commitments, payments, invoices, and contract expenditure to ensure accurate reporting and cost management throughout the project life cycle.
In This Role, You Will
Manage tendering activities by preparing cost estimates, analysing tender submissions, and coordinating invitations to contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project scope and Emirates Group requirements.
Review and validate Bills of Quantities, drawing, and specifications to identify discrepancies or omissions, ensuring accuracy of quantities, materials, and scope prior to contract award.
Control Variations & Claims Management by identifying, measuring, and valuing changes, maintaining variation and change management logs, and assessing contractor and subcontractor claims and support dispute resolution when required.
Prepare progress reports highlighting work completion status, outstanding activities, risks, and cost impact, escalating delays or issues with recommended corrective action, prepare Bill of Quantities and Tender documents for in- house projects, and complete tender technical and commercial evaluations.
Support post contract administrations activities including meetings, financial appraisals, extensions of time claims, and financial claims expertise to provide the best value for money with respect to initial cost and cost-in-use over the projects, and preparation of annual budgets for new and in-house projects. Monitor project expenditure against approved estimates to ensure effective cost control and budget compliance.
Surveying of market trends, materials, and new contractors and recommend their introduction into the Company.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
Qualifications: Completed Bachelors Degree (12+3 or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Experience: 5+ years experience in Facilities/Maintenance or other related field.
Knowledge & Skills
Experience in UAE/GCC construction and fit-out projects
Technical knowledge of civil, MEP and interior packages.
Excellent commercial and value awareness.
Proficiency in Excel and cost reporting tool, Knowledge of Primavera software is an advantage.
Should have good commercial skill in project accounts.
Ability to manage multiple fast-track projects.
Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
