Quantity Surveyor - MEP

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor with experience in MEP projects to join our team. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all costs relating to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects and ensuring that the projects are completed within budget.

Job Responsibility

• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors.
• Monitor and control costs during the project lifecycle.
• Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Track variations in the project scope and adjust budgets accordingly.
• Prepare and submit valuations, claims, and final accounts.
• Provide financial advice on the impact of design decisions.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities and costs.
  
  

• Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices and techniques.
• Familiarity with relevant software such as CostX or Bluebeam.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Professional certification (e.g., RICS) is a plus.
  
  

• In-depth knowledge of MEP systems and construction processes
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices
• Ability to accurately estimate costs and quantities of materials and labor
• Proficient in using relevant software for quantity surveying and cost estimation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards in the construction industry
