Job Description

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of contractual and financial elements of construction projects. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of resources, cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders, and maintaining cost control measures. You will be required to participate in project meetings, liaise with contractors, and provide insightful input on budgeting and forecasting. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of construction contracts and commercial practices, as well as the ability to adapt to diverse project requirements. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets and financial forecasts diligently.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis and ensure the effective allocation of resources.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing structures, and resolve any contractual claims efficiently.
  • Generate accurate valuation reports, cost plans, and financial statements for stakeholders.
  • Assess and validate contractor and subcontractor invoices and payments systematically.
  • Facilitate clear communication between project teams, contractors, and clients regularly.
  • Undertake risk analysis to identify potential project cost overruns and mitigate them.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and adherence to relevant standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with project managers to track and report on project progress and budgets.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports to management and clients as required.
  • Assist in procurement processes to ensure cost-effective acquisition of materials.
  • Update and maintain accurate records of financial transactions and contract details.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in quantity surveying or similar role.
  • Proficient in cost management software and MS Office Suite applications.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision under deadline constraints.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders.
