Quality Process Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Process Engineer – PCBA. The successful individual will ensure that internal and external PCBA customer quality expectations are 100% secured and compliant with EATON standards.

The individal will be in charge of PCBA SKUs PPAP completion as per EATON ProLaunch process, supported by Manufacturing plant team, covering all production steps from IQC, PCB assembly until SKU packaging for shipment. The individual will be a central team member for production and process improvements, and able to suggest Quality system improvements, compliant with best industry standards, supporting product quality, and operational excellence, in line with EATON Safety rules.

What You’ll Do

• Secure proper application of quality system in production, enhance and deploy Quality standards across manufacturing activities.
• Treat customer complaint and secure manufacturing process accordingly.
• State during ProLaunch phases about manufacturing readiness (Quality risk assessement) and project results alignement with Production and customer Quality targets, for NPI and transfered PCBA.
• Deploy an apply Quality policy and tools for operational purposes, in manufacturing processes and production areas.
• Track and analyse production quality key performance indicators: mainly OEE (FPY) and SPC, and define related action plan with Production and Technical teams.
• Support Industrialization program manager for Quality performance assessement and risk definition, during ProLaunch and Transfer phases (Component PPAP Status, PCB and PCBA PPAP).
• Validate with technical team, Test equipment compliance with Quality targets (repeatability and capability, mechanical stress, Test coverage, etc..) and Pilot Runs quality results (Product compliance with specifications, defect rate below targets, etc..).
• Active participant to PFMEA, Control plan definition, managed by Industrialization Program Manager.
• Write IQC control plan and work instruction, as well as Packaging work instruction.
• Manage Component quality status in case of non conformity: Release, blocked, to be scrapped, and manage with SCM, supplier complaint and refunding process.
• Act as Quality interlocutor for other EATON plant and EMS , and for internal/external quality/customer audit.
• Support Production Continuous Improvement initiatives, SMED, Kaizen events, RIE, VSM.
• Lead, as Quality expert, cross functional team for Customer and internal quality crisis root cause analysis , and action plan definition.
• Enhance I4.0 initiatives with Quality requests related to Traceability, SPC, and other needed inputs for quality purpose.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in PCBA manufacturing engineering, production or quality.
  
  
  

Skills

• Demonstrating in continuous improvement methodologies and tools (8D, etc..)
• NPI & VAVE PCBA ProLaunch adherence
• Production support and trouble shooting for 10 years minimum in electronics production environment.
• Significative experience in SPI, AOI, XRay and Test results understanding (Flying probe test and Functional Test).
• Strong understanding in electronics manufacturing processes and equipments.
• Programation of soldering equipment (Wave soldering, Selective wave soldering, Robot soldering, Manual, etc..).
• Clear understanding in SPI, AOI, XRay and Test results (Flying probe test and Functional Test).
• IPC-A610 Class3 strong knowledge and application (Certification is a strong advantage)
• IPC-A600 strong knowledge and application (Certification is a strong advantage)
• Knowledge of ESD safety procedures and quality control practices.
• PCB & Electronics component strong knowledge (Material, Risks & weaknesses, etc..)
• Good communication with pedagogic skills and spirit of synthesis .
• High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to work with multiple plant stakeholders, R&D engineers, and strongly support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Safety oriented in operations, in line with EATON MESH and operational activities.
