Purchasing Officer responsibilities include researching and evaluating new vendors, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating with suppliers, tracking deliveries and updating purchasing records (e.g. dates, invoices and discounts.) Ultimately, you will ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining required quality standards and a fully stocked inventory.

• Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
• Source vendors, obtain quotations and compare prices, quality and delivery terms
• Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
• Maintain updated records of invoices, purchase orders and contracts
• Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure purchasing requirements are met
  
  

Ideally, you'll have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the similar role in a four or five-star hotel. Hands-on experience with purchasing software (e.g. Adaco, FBM or Jana System). Knowledge of market research and Good understanding of supply chain procedures. Ability to demonstrate working with and engaging teams from different cultures, strong verbal and written communication skills along with being quality oriented with focus on details, high performance standards, able to multi-task & meet deadlines.
