Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and strategic Purchasing Officer to join our procurement team. As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a critical role in managing the sourcing and procurement activities of the organization. You are expected to ensure the acquisition of high-quality goods and services at competitive prices. This role requires effective negotiation, supplier management, and an analytical mind to oversee the inventory and ordering process. Collaborating with various departments, you will help streamline procurement processes and contribute to cost-saving initiatives. If you are detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and a knack for strategic decision-making, we would love to have you on board.


Responsibilities

  • Develop procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective for the organization.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors and suppliers effectively.
  • Manage supplier relationships and maintain a professional network with key industry players.
  • Review and analyze all vendors and suppliers regularly to ensure best value.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to determine purchasing needs and requirements.
  • Conduct regular research and market analyses to keep abreast of industry trends.
  • Evaluate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of products and materials.
  • Monitor inventory and maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on purchasing activities, costs, and performance metrics.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures to improve procurement process efficiency.
  • Resolve grievances with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and legal regulations regarding purchasing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems for streamlined operations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
