Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process in accordance with company standards and policies. You will work closely with suppliers and various internal departments to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining the quality and delivery standards required. The Purchasing Officer will also play a pivotal role in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management, pushing forward initiatives to optimize spending and drive results for the organization. This position requires a proactive approach, effective communication skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and agreements with suppliers to secure best deals.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to ensure adequate supply.
  • Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  • Prepare purchase orders and send them to suppliers after approval.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and cost-efficient project procurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a purchasing officer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
