Job Description

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) is tasked with managing the public image and communications of our organization. This role requires expertise in crafting press releases, developing media relationships, organizing events, and managing social media platforms to promote and maintain a positive public perception. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a PR Officer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring transparent and effective communication both internally and externally, aligning all messaging with the organization’s strategic goals. You will act as the media spokesperson and coordinate with various departments to ensure consistency in all communications.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans to enhance public image.
  • Write and distribute press releases to the appropriate media outlets.
  • Respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organize and manage events to bolster public relations initiatives.
  • Develop strong relationships with key journalists and media entities.
  • Manage and create content for the organization's social media accounts.
  • Monitor media coverage and track public perception of the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive communication strategies.
  • Coordinate crisis communication and reputation management efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a database of media contacts and influencers.
  • Provide regular reports on PR successes and potential opportunities.
  • Continuously seek out new opportunities to promote the organization positively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in public relations or a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain media relationships effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with social media management and digital content creation.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
