Job Description

As a Proposal & Estimation Manager, you will play a crucial role in the sales and project management process by preparing accurate and competitive proposals and estimations for clients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all bids and estimates are developed and submitted within the stipulated timelines and in adherence to the company's standards and client requirements. You will work closely with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to gather relevant information necessary to prepare proposals. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be instrumental in identifying potential risks and opportunities, ensuring that proposals are not only competitive but also viable. This role demands excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with both clients and internal stakeholders, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare detailed proposals and estimates for client projects.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to gather information.
  • Ensure all proposals comply with company standards and client specifications.
  • Review and analyze project requirements to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Manage and oversee the proposal development process from start to finish.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure accurate cost estimation and supply chain alignment.
  • Work with clients to clarify requirements and ensure mutual understanding of proposals.
  • Participate in negotiation meetings to secure favorable terms and close deals.
  • Track and report on key metrics related to proposal success and improvement areas.
  • Train and mentor junior team members in proposal writing and estimation processes.
  • Implement and maintain a database of historical data to enhance future proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal management or estimation roles.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for precise estimations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of successful proposal and estimation submissions.
  • Proficiency in project management software and financial estimation tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
