Job Description

The Proposal & Estimation Manager plays a crucial role in driving the company's business development efforts by compiling, articulating, and presenting proposals to potential clients. This position requires an individual who not only understands the intricate details of products and services offered but can also effectively communicate their value to garner new business opportunities. The Proposal & Estimation Manager must ensure that all proposals are both competitive and align with the company’s pricing strategies while maximizing project wins. This is a strategic role that requires close collaboration with multiple departments, including sales, operations, and engineering, to gather the necessary data for accurate estimation. The ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality is essential, making this role both challenging and rewarding for the right candidate.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal development process for all assigned projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary inputs for proposals.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and timelines for proposed projects.
  • Ensure proposals are compliant with client requirements and regulations.
  • Manage proposal schedules and deadlines efficiently to meet submission timelines.
  • Review and edit proposals for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Develop proposal templates and standardize processes for efficiency improvements.
  • Lead negotiations with clients post-proposal submission to ensure contract finalization.
  • Analyze competitors' offerings and pricing to ensure competitive proposals.
  • Regularly update and maintain a database of past proposals and outcomes.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior proposal team members.
  • Utilize industry best practices to continuously improve the proposal process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal development and estimation.
  • Proven ability to lead complex proposal and estimation processes effectively.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with proposal software and tools such as CRM and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate estimations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight proposal submission deadlines.
