How You Will Create An Impact
- Manage existing renewal portfolio and secure new business accounts – regular market visits to ensure good submission flow.
- Achieve budgeted top line production and bottom line results – ensuring target growth, profitability and account retention is achieved via taking sound underwriting decisions on daily basis.
- Educate local business community on property products and presentations and seminars for clients.
- Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory environment to ensure underwriting compliance – complete all mandatory AIG training courses; ensure knowledge on regulatory developments is up to date.
- Report on budget metrics and prepare forecasts on future periods – keep accurate track of production and various performance parameters.
- Keep up-to-date of market changes and trends and develop strong personal and professional relationships with clients and brokers – regular market / producer meetings, attend industry events/ seminars, etc.
- Portfolio analysis
- Contributing to the development of expertise and knowledge of the team members especially the new and junior underwriters from different regions
- Participating in an active way to maintain a good team spirit and motivated staff.
- Facultative Reinsurance placement – as applicable and when needed
- Liaising with Accounting and Claims department by providing required information and participate in the relevant meetings
- Taking active part in presentations, seminars and internal technical trainings.
- Conducting regularly engineering surveys with our risk engineers focusing on the large/complex and medium/high hazard risks.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Qualifications & Education:
University Degree/ CII diploma would be a plus as well.
Experience
Experience in CP underwriting and Insurance industry knowledge
Training
No mandatory external training but would include internal & external training related to the job requirements

Extensive underwriting market knowledge
