Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, control, and successful delivery of capital, renovation, and operational projects within the luxury resort. This role ensures that all projects are completed on time, within approved budgets, and in full alignment with the resort’s brand standards, guest experience expectations, and quality benchmarks. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Project Manager manages consultants and contractors, and serves as the primary point of accountability for project outcomes, risk management, compliance, and stakeholder communication.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Take full ownership of assigned projects from concept and design through execution, commissioning, and final handover.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with luxury hospitality standards, brand guidelines, and operational requirements.
- Proactively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies to minimize impact on resort operations and guest experience.
- Act as the primary liaison between resort management, internal departments, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Housekeeping, F&B, Procurement, Finance, and Operations to align project outcomes with operational needs.
- Chair project meetings; drive decisions, assign actions, and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Provide regular, clear, and concise project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and milestones, taking corrective action where required.
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly project status reports, including progress, risks, cost forecasts, and key achievements.
- Maintain complete and accurate project documentation, including drawings, approvals, permits, contracts, variations, and correspondence.
- Ensure effective management processes for scope, cost, and schedule variations.
- Develop and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost control mechanisms.
- Review and approve contractor valuations, variations, and payments in coordination with Finance and Procurement.
- Identify and implement value engineering and cost-optimization opportunities without compromising quality or guest experience.
- Prepare project cost summaries and final financial close-out reports.
- Ensure all works comply with approved specifications, brand standards, safety requirements, and UAE regulatory authorities.
- Conduct regular site inspections with Engineering and HSE teams to monitor workmanship, safety compliance, and quality.
- Oversee snagging, de-snagging, commissioning, and final handover to operations.
- Ensure minimal disruption to guests and hotel operations during all project phases
- Lead coordination with Procurement on BOQs, scopes of work, tender documentation, and contractor evaluations.
- Manage consultant and contractor performance, ensuring adherence to contracts, schedules, and quality expectations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, FF&E, and equipment.
- Address contractor delays, non-compliance, or quality issues promptly and professionally.
- Integrate sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency, and best environmental practices into all project stages.
- Ensure projects align with the resort’s sustainability goals and international hospitality standards.
Education & Experience
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in project management within the hospitality, luxury hotel, or high-end construction sector.
- Proven experience managing capital projects, renovations, and operational upgrades in occupied hotels or resorts.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, construction processes, and hospitality operations.
- Solid understanding of Dubai Municipality regulations and local authority requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
