This role focuses mainly on the First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement. The settlement is aimed at compensating those harmed by discriminatory underfunding of the First Nations Child and Family Services Program, as well as those impacted by the federal government’s narrow interpretation of Jordan’s Principle. Nine Classes are included in this Settlement. Each of the nine Classes is unique and will have its own Claims Process that requires approval by the Federal Court. The Claims Period for each Class will open in phases and we are currently supporting the first two Classes.

Castlemain’s role in implementing the Settlement is to provide navigational supports to Class Members in the Claims Process. Our guiding objectives are to ensure that every Class Member has the opportunity to access, understand and respond to the Settlement Agreement notice, as well as to receive the necessary assistance for completing and submitting their claims. We are dedicated to ensuring Class Members are well-informed about the wellness support and resources available to them.

As a Project Manager, you will support the delivery of the Settlement across workstreams by applying foundational project management knowledge through integrated project plans, timelines and risk mitigation across all project stages. You will remove barriers, identify, and manage interdependencies to ensure alignment and progress towards shared project goals.

This permanent full-time position, offered hybrid or remote, is open to candidates across Canada, with offices in Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver.

About the Opportunity:

• This role requires strong collaborative skills, an ability to manage and balance multiple demands and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• You will effectively communicate timelines, scope and success through expectation management, and provide guidance to functional leads by identifying, flagging, and supporting mitigation of issues and risks
• Create and maintain project documentation, including new processes, to ensure team alignment and future training across the program
• Organize and facilitate meetings, managing notes and communication between teams. May occasionally present to a diverse group.
• Prepare updates and reports for client and leadership, and present findings
• Help manage program budget as required
• Apply trauma-informed and culturally safe practices in all work, respecting the histories and needs of Indigenous communities and other equity-deserving groups

About You:

• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with experience tracking multiple workstreams and deliverables
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with project management tools and systems (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, ClickUp, Smartsheet)
• Self-identifying as Indigenous is an asset
• Access to a quiet, private workspace with reliable internet.
• Willingness to learn, try new approaches, and adapt as work evolves.
• Demonstrate a shared responsibility for health and safety by complying with applicable legislation and organizational policies, engaging in open communication, participating in safety initiatives, and actively supporting the ongoing prevention of risk and injury.

Compensation:

Starting annual compensation of $60,000-$80,000 plus rewarding benefits package. The offered compensation will take into account the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity
