  • Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) Ethiopia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Project to lead a design build project for the supply of cash centers in different regions. The Head of Project will manage multiple site project managers, ensuring the timely and successful delivery of the project. This role also involves serving as the contractor's representative in accordance with the FIDIC Yellow Book 2017 contract terms. You will be based in Ethiopia (Addis Abeba) for the duration of the project.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead of the project team as central contact person consisting of several sub-project managers and subject matter experts composed of internal and external partners/suppliers/project participants.
  • Lead and supervise four site project managers to ensure project delivery with in scope, budget, and schedule agreed in contract.
  • Acting as the contractor's representative to all the client's stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic direction and decision-making support to project teams.
  • Ensure project execution complies with the company's standards as well as contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage resources effectively, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies including making contingency plans for unforeseen challenges.
  • Resolve issues promptly to minimize project disruptions.
  • Serve as the contractor’s representative in accordance with FIDIC Yellow Book 2017 contract terms.
  • Handle contract administration, including variations, claims, and extensions of time.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all parties involved.
  • Oversee project budget and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Manage project financials, including cost control and cash flow management.
  • Approve project expenditures and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Follows escalation procedures to assure that problems are resolved expeditiously and that timely communications are maintained with designated G+D and customer management


Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical or Civil engineering.
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in areas that involve technical installation of systems.
    • Experience in project management abroad of system projects (intralogistics or production systems consisting of intralogistics components such as material flow control systems, warehouses, racking, conveyors).
    • Knowledge of the product portfolio and handling processes in cash centers as well as the customer structure and their requirements are desirable.
    • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
    • Experience working with FIDIC contracts, specifically the Yellow Book 2017.
