Job Description

A Project Manager in the civil engineering sector is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires someone who has a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team. The Project Manager ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting the quality standards and safety regulations. They liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met. Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities are essential for managing project challenges and achieving a satisfactory outcome.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to support business objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans and schedules, managing project activities and timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and manage project expectations effectively.
  • Lead project team members, assigning individual tasks and responsibilities accordingly.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders regularly.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities to minimize impact and capitalize on benefits.
  • Ensure all project-related regulatory compliance and safety standards are maintained.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, proposals, and documentation for future reference.
  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs effectively, utilizing proper verification techniques.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during project execution promptly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in project management within the civil engineering sector.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget constraints.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, phases, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PMP certification or equivalent will be considered an advantage.
