Job Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial and operational performance of projects by providing accurate project accounting, cost control, forecasting, and project progress reporting. The role works closely with Project Managers, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to monitor project performance, maintain project financial data, track risks and change orders, and ensure timely reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Project Accounting & Cost Control
- Prepare monthly Project Progress Reviews (PPRs), including cost, revenue, margin, and forecast analysis.
- Monitor project budgets, committed costs, actual costs, and estimate-to-complete (ETC).
- Maintain project forecasts and support month-end financial reporting and accruals.
- Track project invoicing, collections, and outstanding receivables.
- Support project close-out activities, including financial reconciliation and system closure.
- Prepare project performance dashboards and management reports.
- Maintain project KPIs, risk registers, contingency utilization, and change order logs.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure alignment between financial and operational progress.
- Analyze project performance variances and provide recommendations to Project Managers.
- Coordinate project budget setup following contract award.
- Maintain project documentation, including variation orders, Letters of Credit (LC), Performance Bank Guarantees (PBG), warranties, and contract records.
- Support monthly project review meetings and management presentations.
- Ensure data accuracy within ERP and project management systems.
Essential
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in project accounting, project controls, project finance, or project support within the Oil & Gas, EPC, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
- Experience in project budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and project financial reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP, Oracle, Primavera) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Desirable
- Experience with reporting tools.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of project management principles and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Familiarity with contract administration and change management processes.
