Professional Information Technology (Business Application)

The Information echnology Division, under the Office of the Vice President for Administration, is functionally responsible for developing the Bank's IT strategy, policies and guidelines and operating IT process and systems. The division leads in the setting up, analysis and review of IT systems, services and solutions in domains of specialization (i.e., Business Applications, Technology Infrastructure, Workspace and Facility, Application Development, Data and Analytics, Information Security, IT Supply and Demand) ensuring that the Bank's IT systems and services are built and aligned with “best in class” industry norms. These systems and services are critical to accelerating and expanding the Bank’s operations, strengthening its reputation as an innovative International Financial Institution (IFI).

The Professional, Business Application position will be responsible for the implementation, enhancement, and production support of the NDB’s business solutions, ensuring alignment with the international standards and the Bank’s policies, guidelines, and procedures. The key responsibilities will include but are not limited to institutional application systems (e.g. human resource, process control and compliance, internal service portal, digital workflow, corporate procurement, workspace collaboration, etc.) and data processing domains as per the business needs.


Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Business domain applications: Extending support to other business areas as per organizational needs, ensuring integrated and scalable solutions.

Implementation and enhancement: Designing, deploying, and continuously improving applications to meet evolving business requirements.

Production support: Providing reliable maintenance, troubleshooting, and user support to ensure system stability and performance.

Standards and compliance: Ensuring all solutions adhere to international best practices, regulatory frameworks, and internal governance.

Business–technology liaison: Acting as a bridge between business and technology units, analyzing and identifying proven, state-of-the-art, and future-proof processes and solutions.

Solution design and sourcing: Designing, proposing, sourcing, implementing, and maintaining cost-optimized solutions with sound business acumen and timely technology assessment.

Stakeholder engagement: Understanding diverse stakeholder needs, facilitating negotiation of requirements, and presenting solutions effectively.

Process improvement: Identifying areas for improvement and developing technology interventions based on research, analysis, and organizational priorities.

Documentation and communication: Preparing clear requirements and communicating them with internal and external stakeholders.

Vendor management: Maintaining relationships with application vendors and monitoring their performance.

Service continuity: Developing and implementing measures for continuity and improvement of technology solutions.

Data integration: Identifying and assembling structured and unstructured datasets from multiple sources to meet business requirements.


Position requirements

Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in technology solution environments and business application management domain, preferably in a multilateral development bank or regulated private/public sector financial institution, global financial services organization, or large corporate enterprise.

Demonstrated broad understanding of technology solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes, or technology designs across multiple product/technology families.

In-depth expertise in institutional application management (including but not limited to human resource information systems (HRIS), process control and compliance, internal service portal, digital workflow, corporate procurement, workspace collaboration, etc.) design and deployment, enterprise data processing.

Demonstrated experience in adopting advanced technologies and AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency and decision-making.

Proven ability to craft technology solutions and process mapping that align institutional systems with organizational goals. Proven expertise in multiple business processes across an organization and the ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing complex solutions.

Ability to objectively critique business scenarios and processes.

Exceptional technology knowledge and practical skills about application related programming and scripting language, database, network, integration, cloud infrastructure, information security, application security, application performance, access control, privileged account management, system monitoring and log management, etc.

Knowledge of IT service management (ITIL), project management (PMP), architecture, information security and governance processes.

Ability of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects in parallel.

Exceptional strategic thinking, leading change, problem solving, communication, conflict management and resolution and interpersonal skills with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals.

Relevant experience in a multi-cultural work environment fostering a climate of teamwork and collaboration.

Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant professional field from a reputed university. A degree in computer programming or systems management is preferable.

Professional certification and hands-on experience with business application management, product management, project management, SDLC, DevOps and relevant fields are highly preferred.
