Beyond Banking is a core capability within Mashreq’s Ecosystems & Platform Banking tribe, focused on building fintech‑integrated, non‑financial services and experiences that deepen customer engagement, loyalty, and lifetime value. Through partner‑powered journeys and marketplace-led solutions—spanning travel, digital services, lifestyle and commerce—Beyond Banking transforms Mashreq from a transaction- and yield‑led bank into a relationship‑led, lifestyle fintech platform and digital companion.
Operating as a horizontal squad serving all customer segments (NEO, Gold, Private), Beyond Banking diversifies income streams through non‑interest revenues, drives platform economics, and accelerates Mashreq’s evolution into a scalable, ecosystem‑driven financial services platform.
The Role – Product Owner, Beyond Banking, Mashreq
The Product Owner – Beyond Banking is a senior product leadership role responsible for owning the delivery, evolution, and commercial success of Mashreq’s Beyond Banking propositions. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Beyond Banking, this role acts as the end-to-end owner of the Beyond Banking product backlog, particularly connectivity (eSIM) and travel solutions, translating Group-level strategy into executable roadmaps and high-quality customer-facing solutions.
The role exists to ensure that Mashreq’s Beyond Banking initiatives—spanning non-financial services, ecosystem partnerships, and marketplace propositions—are delivered at scale, deeply integrated into Mashreq’s fintech platforms, and commercially impactful across customer segments (NEO, Gold, Private) and geographies.
Operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, the Product Owner is accountable for maximizing customer value, driving partner-led innovation, and ensuring disciplined agile delivery in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Product Scope (In-Scope)
The role is responsible for Mashreq’s Beyond Banking portfolio, encompassing multiple propositions aligned and integrated into the bank’s core banking and financial services products, technology and infrastructure, including but not limited to:
Beyond Banking digital propositions tightly integrated into Mashreq’s fintech portfolio
Global and regional digital services (e.g., international/ travel eSIM, other connectivity products, productivity and intelligence tools, streaming services).
Travel propositions, including travel portals, OTA integrations, bundled travel packages, direct partnerships with travel providers and ancillary travel products.
As Mashreq is expanding across new geographies, this role will also be responsible to expand Beyond Banking propositions and solutions in line with local customers’ needs.

Geographical scope: UAE, Egypt, Pakistan and other markets, as required
Key Results Areas
Own and drive the delivery of customer-centric, scalable, and revenue-generating Beyond Banking propositions, focusing on travel solutions, namely international eSIM and travel portal.
Translate Beyond Banking strategy and vision into clear roadmaps, epics, user stories, and release plans.
Maximize commercial outcomes through strong backlog prioritization aligned to customer impact, revenue, and strategic value.
Ensure Beyond Banking propositions are deeply integrated into Mashreq’s digital channels and core fintech products.
Lead day-to-day execution with technology and design squads, ensuring high quality, timely, and compliant delivery.
Establish and track product OKRs and success metrics in line with Beyond Banking performance frameworks.
Support partner onboarding, integration, and commercialization alongside strategic partnerships teams.

Owns and prioritizes the product backlog across multiple initiatives.
Works closely with engineers, designers, QA, data, risk, legal, and commercial stakeholders.
Coordinates with dotted-line market counterparts for localization and rollout.

Proactively identify delivery risks, dependency bottlenecks, and execution trade-offs
Continuously refine propositions based on customer insights, data, and market feedback
Operate with a hands-on mindset to unblock teams and maintain delivery momentum
Decision Making Authority & Responsibility
Own prioritization of the Beyond Banking product backlog in alignment with strategic and commercial goals
Make day-to-day product and delivery decisions within agreed governance and risk frameworks
Influence partner selection, feature sequencing, and go-to-market readiness
Escalate and resolve strategic trade-offs in collaboration with the Global Head of Beyond Banking
Ensure all delivered propositions comply with Mashreq policies, regulatory standards, and platform principles
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
10+ years’ experience in digital product management, with at least 5 years in senior product owner / lead product roles
Proven experience delivering platform-based, ecosystem, or marketplace propositions (fintech or adjacent sectors)
Strong understanding of digital banking, embedded finance, and non-financial ecosystem models
Demonstrated expertise in Agile / Scrum product ownership and backlog management
Solid commercial acumen, with experience building business cases and measuring ROI
Ability to operate effectively in complex, cross-functional, multi-market environments
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
Hands-on, resilient, and execution-focused mindset
Experience working with external partners and third-party integrations is essential
