Overview Of The Role:

  • The Procurement Engineer is responsible for executing procurement activities while adhering to company policies and regulations. The role involves negotiating and finalizing subcontracts and rate agreements and requires independent judgment under the supervision of the Head of Procurement. The position demands a process-driven, financially logical approach, focusing on enhancing profitability by delivering efficient procurement services and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. Managing procurement transactions involves planning, monitoring, and ensuring quality assurance of procurement and contract activities, aiming for cost-effective procurement within budgeted targets.

What You Will Do:

General

  • Manage procurement transactions related to Low Current Systems/ICT Systems, ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and professional services for multiple projects and clients within AFET.
  • Develop procurement plans and requisition schedules along with AFET units, adapting standard contracts for procurement with the participation of Group legal.
  • Prepare and issue Request for Quotations to vendors, and process requisitions for both engineered and non-engineered goods.
  • Prepare purchase orders, rate and framework agreements, and labour supply agreements with clear terms to mitigate company risks.
  • Negotiate labour supply strategies for projects, coordinating with stakeholders to implement agreed strategies.
  • Ensure materials ordered conform to specifications and required quality standards.
  • Conduct effective negotiations for pricing, delivery, and commercial terms, and monitor supplier performance for recovery on costs and reconciliation of purchase orders.
  • Prepare status reports on outstanding orders, identify potential problems, and resolve any commercial issues arising before or after order placement.
  • Develop and analyze vendors to maintain efficient procurement and material control functions.
  • Participate in price negotiations for significant orders to achieve savings for the company.
  • Ensure stakeholders are regularly updated on order statuses and collaborate inter-departmentally to maintain communication.
  • Implement consolidated opportunities for collaborative procurement, maintaining compliance with Group policies and delegations of authority.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Proven strategic negotiation skills to secure favorable agreements.
  • Expertise in cost estimation and implementing ERP functionalities for process improvement.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement roles within ELV/ICT projects and maintenance contracts.
  • Knowledge of procurement practices, FIDIC or FAR contracts, and experience with ERP systems like ARIBA.
  • Strong negotiation skills with extensive experience in developing business-specific contracts and agreements.
