Job Description

A Procurement Executive plays a crucial role in the supply chain management of a company. This position involves overseeing the purchasing of goods and services required by the organization. The Procurement Executive is tasked with sourcing high-quality products at competitive prices, ensuring consistency in supply, and building strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. This role demands excellent negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of market trends. The individual should be adept at coordinating procurement processes, ensuring compliance with company policies, and optimizing the purchasing strategy to contribute positively to the company’s bottom line.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and goals.
  • Analyze market trends to identify changes in the balance of buyer/supplier power.
  • Maintain and update a list of suppliers, ensuring rigorous vetting and evaluation processes.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to optimize costs and service levels.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to forecast supply needs and develop procurement plans.
  • Oversee the preparation of purchase orders and ensure prompt processing of procurement documentation.
  • Implement and monitor internal procurement policies and procedures for quality assurance.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with key suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement activities.
  • Address and resolve any procurement discrepancies or issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular audits of current suppliers to ensure ongoing compliance and performance standards.
  • Report on procurement activities and progress to senior management on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close favorable deals effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess supplier capabilities and market conditions.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with supplier networks.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to procurement and supply chain.
