Job Description

As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing the purchasing processes, sourcing suppliers, and ensuring that the organization obtains the best value for goods and services. Your primary responsibilities will include researching and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ordering products based on the current needs of the company. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, analyzing market trends to forecast purchasing needs, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations. The role demands strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and detailed knowledge of the engineering sector to ensure that the products sourced meet quality standards while optimizing costs and delivery timelines.


Responsibilities

  • Research, assess, and select suppliers based on product quality and price.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers focusing on cost-efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain detailed records of orders, inventory, and invoices for reference.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to understand technical needs and specifications.
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate necessary product procurements and sales dynamics.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers globally.
  • Ensure that purchasing activities comply with legal and ethical regulations.
  • Review and monitor supplier performance to ensure sustained quality services.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to forecast procurement budgets and costs accurately.
  • Develop strategies for optimizing procurement and supply chain operations efficiently.
  • Provide training and support to junior staff on procurement practices and standards.
  • Continually develop procurement processes to streamline efficiencies and ensure value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing functions.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favorable contract terms.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to assess suppliers and forecast procurement needs.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems to manage procurement databases.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain processes and global market trends.
