Role Overview

The Processing specialist – Card Operations will be responsible for handling acquiring chargeback processes, ensuring compliance with payment network regulations, and providing operational support for resolving disputes between merchants and cardholders. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chargeback Processing:
  • Handle end-to-end chargeback processes for acquiring transactions.
  • Analyze chargeback claims to determine validity and gather necessary documentation for dispute resolution.
  • Merchant Support:
  • Collaborate with merchants to obtain evidence for dispute cases.
  • Provide timely updates to merchants on the status of their chargebacks.
  • Compliance and Regulations:
  • Ensure adherence to payment network guidelines (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) in processing chargebacks.
  • Stay updated on changes in dispute and chargeback regulations.
  • Data Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of chargeback cases in the system.
  • Prepare periodic reports on chargeback trends and resolutions for management.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing best practices for chargeback handling.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the fraud prevention team, merchant services, and customer service teams to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Escalate complex cases to senior officers or management when required.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10–15 years of experience in card operations, payment processing, or chargeback handling (preferred).
  • Knowledge of acquiring operations, chargeback life cycle, and payment network guidelines (Visa/Mastercard,CUP,Diners,JCB).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
