Job Description

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and integrity of industrial processes. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing potential risks, implementing safety protocols, and developing strategies to minimize hazards in both existing and new processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Additionally, your responsibilities will include conducting various safety assessments, leading incident investigations, and recommending improvements to enhance overall process safety. Your analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will be instrumental in safeguarding our operations and workforce.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify safety hazards in industrial processes.
  • Develop and implement process safety management strategies and protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety practices and culture.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and deliver training programs on process safety to employees and contractors.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety procedures and policies.
  • Prepare detailed safety reports and documentation for management and regulatory reviews.
  • Review and recommend updates to process hazard analyses and safety designs.
  • Support the development and maintenance of safety data sheets and process documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in process safety engineering techniques.
  • Participate in safety-related meetings and provide insights and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a process safety engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform risk assessments.
  • Experience leading incident investigations and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively deliver training and presentations.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good understanding of safety analysis tools such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FTA.
  • Certification in process safety management or engineering is highly preferred.
